End Of A Great Season

I just wanted to make a quick post to reflect on this past dance season, as it was probably one of the best for me!

To start it off, I wanted to thank every one of my teachers that took their time to pass their knowledge onto me and helped me grow as a dancer and a person. I’d also like to thank my parents for being SO SO SO very supportive through out this hectic time of driving back and forth between competitions and rushing to places not to be late. Both these things mean so much to me.

My scholarships I received this season are really going to give me an opportunity to learn, learn, learn! A 2-week scholarship to move:The Company to train in ballet/contemporary, a week-long scholarship to Harbour for lots and lots of training in all styles, a Be Discovered Performance Intensive scholarship, I was asked to teach around Canada with Fresh Intensive, assisting and guest performing once again with the K Days Talent Search and many other performances and workshops. Constant dancing and teaching all summer! I can’t wait!

I feel this year, I grew an exponential amount compared to last year. I really started seeing things (dance, choreography, etc.) in a different way by the end. All the training that I did this year really “sparked” my learning. The week-long, intense popping and animation training from Megaman changed my view on the styles and intensely expanded my technique. Taking Teresa Espinosa’s class at the Reel workshop inspired me on how I want to teach and choreograph. She approached it as a true art form, and I loved it.

I can’t wait for the upcoming opportunities to apply my learning this summer, and I can’t wait for next year to see how else I will grow/learn!
